Goyder Gardens: Burra and Beyond returns on the weekend of 16 & 17 October with a jam-packed program of family-friendly attractions, including 14 beautiful gardens to explore, interactive creative workshops for adults and kids, informative author talks, plant sales, art and craft products, delicious home-made morning teas with live music in the garden, and so much more! This popular annual event proudly showcases the creativity of the Mid North region of South Australia, from glorious gardens to fabulous food and superb scenery, all within an hour's drive of Burra. Don't miss this very special opportunity to immerse yourself in both the town and gardens proudly created by their owners. Plus enjoy the vibrant community atmosphere with a diverse line-up of events, activities and presentations!

The Gardens of Goyder: The Gardens of Goyder will be open on both Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October, from 10 am to 4 pm. Check out the full line-up here!
Plants & Artisan Wares Available for Sale: Tupelo Grove Nursery is offering a selection of plants for sale; Jani Pepaj Roses will have potted roses for sale; and Arid Lands Botanic Gardens is offering gorgeous dryland natives. There will also be Whadabout rustic sculptures for sale and fashion, original homewares and art for local stallholders.
You can also drop into Glenys's Gallery on Thames St, Burra and pick up some art for your home!
Workshops & Presentations:
Well-known author and dedicated plants person Trevor Nottle will present Gardening in South Australia, which he part authored for the Mediterranean Garden Society of SA.
Indigenous artist of the year, Sonya Rankine, is presenting a basket weaving workshop. Sonya is a Ngarrindjeri, Ngadjuri & Narungga artist who has established herself as a weaver under her business name of Lakun Mara. (Please note there is a small cover charge for this workshop).
Take part in a Recreate Printing Workshop using plants from the garden! Find out what plants work best and make your own original artwork into cards, posters or even placemats. Kids and adults are welcome.
Pottery Workshop - Learn to Hand Build a Pot with Jill Foster. You'll learn how to build a pot by hand, maybe for your herbs or a bowl for water for the bees. Take home your creation! (Please note there is a small cover charge for this workshop).
Recreate is presenting an Insect Hotel workshop! With your Insect Hotel, you can attract and monitor the beneficial insects in your own garden! Kids and adults are welcome.
Discover Vertical Gardening with award-winning designer Tim Keenihan of Cafe Argo fame. Tim is a firm believer in rethinking our options now that people live in highrises and blocks are getting smaller. Keep the quality of produce, no matter how small - garden vertically! Tim also sells seeds and plants wearing his other hat - The Italian Gardener!
Author, travel writer and gardener Christine McCabe is presenting an enlightening talk exploring the different gardens she's seen on her travels and the difference between climates from high to low rainfall. Christine is the author of Gardens of the Adelaide Hills.
For the Kids!
Tori Arbon, author of Magic Little Meals, will be on hand to introduce kids to the joy of homegrown food, the wonders of zucchini and the delicacy of chard. In two sessions, kids will discover how food is grown and how to cook up a storm from the garden!
Meet author and children's educator Kaye Kessing, who loves to share her stories with kids. She'll read the stories about Chuditch the Spotted Quoll, Mala the Hare Wallaby, Numbat and Sticky the Stick-nest Rat.
Morning Tea and Other Food Experiences: Enjoy catering by Confidential Catering and coffee by freshBean. You can have morning and afternoon tea at Mt Bryan.
On Saturday 16 October, there'll be a morning tea to raise money for The Royal Flying Doctor Service at Hill River Estate. You can also have coffee, tea or wine from Hill River Estate if you prefer.
On Sunday 17 October, there is a BBQ Sunday at Mr. Mick Cellar Door and Kitchen, where you can enjoy a good country BBQ, view special recycling work by A Rustic World by Hayden and meet a panel of experts and listen to their gardening experiences and tips and tricks! You will also have the opportunity to ask your own questions!

Please note that entry to the gardens is by ticket only. Tickets are only available online and via Humanitix. Check in is by QR code. There will be no lining up, start your tour wherever you like.
All tickets are $16.50 each for both days, Saturday & Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm. Children under 16 receive FREE entry.

Please note workshops are only open to General Admission ticket holders.
