As part of South Australia’s History Festival, the Mt Pleasant District History Group will again be hosting an ‘Open Doors’ event.
On the 23rd, two of our significant buildings open their doors to the public for tours. The State Heritage listed Old Police Station is now in private hands, and the owner has agreed to show people through the gardens and cells area. This is a great old precinct, and now available as an Air BnB.
The second property is an old BankSA building - more well known as the old Elders house. It has recently undergone some refurbishment and although the interior is not original, the old strong room and safe are still intact.
Bookings are essential for these events - call 0403012339, or email pleasanthistory@gmail.com.
