The mail must get through!

Down in Mundulla, my daughter-in-law, who is an SSO, has been busy. The families in the district - like so many South Australians - have been amazingly good at social distancing, and this seems to have revived some neglected customs.

One of the neighbours donated an old bike with a basket on the front, and the girls have been putting letters in for the neighbours. Texts are sent and cars drive past and pick up and deliver handwritten notes, and sometimes worksheets and puzzles for the children to do.

Letter writing has given way to the quick text and social media ‘like’, and this has been such a rewarding experience for the families, I think I might pen some letters this afternoon and post them Tuesday.

Facebook - although much maligned - has been a great point of contact for everyone around the world to share how they are feeling, and show how they are coping, bringing joy and happiness to those who are not doing so well. Laugh along with the rest of us as you check out Bin isolation outing. Started in Australia - it’s connected with people all over the world.

Have a Happy Easter everyone, and stay happy and creative.

(This is a list on the ABC website that explains current restrictions in South Australia - very clear - https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-04-07/coronavirus-restrictions-in-south-australia-explained/12129372 )
