30th Anniversary of the PS Marion's Re-Commissioning

Get ready to celebrate a monumental occasion! This year, the Mannum Dock Discovery Centre is throwing a spectacular party to honour the 30th Anniversary of the Paddle Steamer Marion’s recommissioning in 1994! Join us on November 23 & 24, 2024, for a weekend bursting with excitement and festivities!

Dive into the vibrant atmosphere filled with short cruises, live music, fascinating museum tours, thrilling Union boiler demonstrations, and the craftsmanship of a working blacksmith. The weekend kicks off at 9am on Saturday, with a special Anniversary Dinner on Saturday night, and on Sunday, prepare for a breathtaking flotilla!

All daytime activities and cruises will be hosted at the stunning Mannum Dock Discovery Centre and Visitor Information Centre, located at 6 Randell Street, Mannum. Our main stars, the PS Marion and PS Industry, will take passengers on unforgettable journeys along the river.

Entry into the Mannum Dock to join the party is just $10 for adults, $7.50 for concessions, and children under 16 are FREE! This entry fee grants you access to the museum, art gallery, speaker's program, children's book readings, blacksmith workshop, steam shed, dry dock, and live entertainment. Relax riverside and indulge in delicious food and beverages, including homemade scones, coffee, a BBQ, and tastings and cocktails from Mannum's own Roylancers Distillery.

Pricing for Cruises: $30 for adults, $25 for concessions, and just $15 for kids. Family tickets $75 (2 adults + 2 children) and $10 per extra child — an incredible deal for a weekend of memories!

Cruise Schedule:
Both the PS Marion and PS Industry will cruise at 10 AM, 12 PM, and 2 PM, with our grand dame, the Marion, leading the way, adorned in festive decorations and serenaded by the incredible Atlantic Street Band playing live New Orleans jazz!

The flotilla will also feature the charming PW Mayflower, joining in on the excitement, along with other boats ready to partake in the fun! Plus, the PW Mayflower will be moored at the historic wharf, serving as the event’s very own floating bar.

The PS Marion is proudly owned and operated by the Mid Murray Council, thanks to the unwavering passion of our dedicated volunteers and crew who keep her sailing strong.

Soak up the wonderful atmosphere and be entertained with music played on vinyl! Admire hundreds of rarely seen historic vehicles and talk to the owners. Enjoy quality regional produce, Adelaide Hills craft beer, wines and spirits plus delicious gourmet street food served by local food trucks.

Attendees are encouraged to wear vintage clothing and enter the Fashions on the Field competition for best period-dress (more information coming soon).
