Stirling Market is always on the 4th Sunday of the month (except December when it is the 3rd Sunday).
It will be a beautiful family friendly day in the Adelaide Hills with live music, tasty food & excellent shopping. Our official start time is 10am, however the locals often start coming from 9am, if you wish to avoid the crowds join us between 9am - 11am or 2pm - 4pm.
We have lovely live music from various musicians. Our Stallholders Make it, Bake it, Sew it & Grow it, the Stirling Market is a great opportunity to shop local. Our stall holders have gorgeous fresh produce for you to purchase, artisan chocolates, art, jewellery, hand bags, local natural beauty products, plants, fashion, fresh produce & much more.
The Market Committee welcomes the return of the market in and encourages all visitors and stallholders to practice social distancing and show respect to others. We ask that you check in using our QR code, wear a mask, you do not linger for too long in front of stalls or in large groups prohibiting others from enjoying the market and stallholders from trading. Social distancing is everyone’s responsibility. There will be hand sanitiser stations throughout the market for your use. We have created extra space between our stalls & by moving the food stalls back by 3 metres. If you are queuing for food please ensure you are 1.5m & not blocking any walk ways or stalls. We all need to be vigilant & respectful so we can continue to enjoy our market.
We ask all followers of our market to adhere to the Australian chief health medical officer’s advice and if you do feel unwell then please say as home for this market and when you are better we will look forward to seeing you at our next market
We would like to make it as easy for everyone to social distance at our market, we would prefer our visitors to keep their furry friends at home however if you do bring your dog we ask you to please keep them on a short leash & make sure they are not blocking any walk ways.

6:30pm (AEST) Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Canberra | 6:00pm (ACST) Adelaide, Broken Hill | 4:30pm (AWST) Perth

Join Sophie Thomson as she takes us through growing veggies vertically to maximise space and utilise produce plants to help cool and shade your garden and home.

Sophie Thomson has continued to light up the screen on ABC TV’s Gardening Australia with her infectious enthusiasm for more than 16 years. She is generous with her knowledge as a horticulturist gleaned from over 35 years of hands-on gardening experience. She shares her insights, tips and knowledge nationally through public speaking engagements, media columns, talk back radio and her recent best-selling book Sophie’s Patch.

Aside from the obvious environmental benefits, Sophie believes gardening improves our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, as well as that of the broader community. Since 2020, she has been working to support fire affected communities on Kangaroo Island and in the Adelaide Hills helping them rebuild their gardens.

Sherlock

Sherlock is our wonderful guard dog, flock protector, friend and family pet. He is a breed called a Maremma, bred to protect stock from predators and to be intensely loyal to, and protective of, his family.

Sherlock is true to his breeding and we ask that visitors do not bring other dogs to our property. Visiting dogs will unnecessarily cause Sherlock stress as he feels the need to protect his flock and family from them.

Your support is much appreciated.

Partnering with local charities

Sophie partners with local community groups and charities to organise the parking. In the past few years, Local Rotary Clubs have managed visitor parking to raise money for their chosen charities including “Operation Flinders’.

What happened in previous open gardens?

Open gardens at Sophie’s Patch are more than just demonstrating sustainable gardening practices that I am always preaching, they are more like a fair or community event focused on community education.  Every open garden is different at Sophie’s Patch as the garden grows, different speakers and groups join, amazing sculptures are built and the garden evolves.
